The same emoji can look different

This picker uses fully qualified Emoji 17.0 sequences and displays your device’s native glyphs. Appearance and support vary across operating systems and apps. Tone variants are offered only where the catalog contains the actual sequence.

Names and sequence data come from Unicode. Read the Unicode license. Looking for text faces? Explore kaomoji.

Find and copy emoji without rebuilding the sequence

Choose an emoji by its name or purpose

An emoji picker is useful when you know the reaction you want but cannot find it on a keyboard. Search for a descriptive name, or browse a category such as smileys, animals or food. The preview uses your device’s native rendering, so it shows the glyph available on your current system rather than a downloaded picture. Choose an emoji that fits the sentence and the recipient. A familiar smile can acknowledge a friendly message; a relevant object can make a short note easier to recognize. Names help you browse, but they do not guarantee that everyone interprets a symbol in exactly the same way.

Copy the whole symbol, including joined parts

Some emoji are a single character, while others are sequences that combine several codepoints into one displayed symbol. Joined forms, flags and tone variants are reasons to use the complete catalog entry instead of assembling one from similar-looking pieces. Press Copy and wait for confirmation before pasting. If the browser cannot write to the clipboard, the manual copy field provides the exact text. You are copying a Unicode sequence, not uploading a sticker or sending an image file. The destination app supplies the artwork, and its support determines whether the sequence appears as one symbol or as separate components.

Use real tone variants instead of arbitrary modifiers

The variant control appears where the catalog contains actual supported entries for that emoji. Choose the tone from that control rather than adding a modifier to any symbol you see. Not every emoji supports tone changes, and combinations can have more specific structures than a single hand symbol. The picker uses pinned fully-qualified Emoji 17.0 data, with names and sequence information from Unicode and the license retained on this site. Versioned data keeps the inventory predictable. It does not mean every older phone or receiving app supports every entry, so test a newer sequence in the actual conversation before relying on its appearance.

Keep words readable when adding reactions

Emoji can support a quick greeting, celebration or description, but a message should still make sense when the symbols are spoken by assistive technology or rendered differently. Keep dates, instructions and important details in plain words. A short reaction beside a sentence is easier to scan than an unrelated row of pictures. The Add action places an emoji into the editable composer, where you can combine it with kaomoji and your own text. Save the draft explicitly before switching libraries. For a finished bio or greeting, Continue in Bio Studio lets you refine the wording without treating a symbol as a substitute for a clear introduction.

Understand display differences and local saving

Artwork can differ between operating systems, browsers and apps even when the copied sequence is identical. A missing box or split sequence may indicate limited destination support, rather than a failed Copy action. Try a simpler alternative, update supported software when appropriate, or use ordinary words if meaning matters. Heart a useful emoji to keep it in this browser’s favorites, and use Recently copied to retrieve successful copies. These records do not automatically sync to another device. The creative backup preserves custom creations and group membership, with a snapshot of earlier library favorites; it is not a complete live synchronization service for every recent copy.

Choose emoji or a text face for the task

Emoji are convenient for recognizable picture-like reactions. Kaomoji offer character-built faces with a different tone and more scope for small text edits. Neither format is the right answer for every message. If you want a sleepy cat with a personal smile, a kaomoji may fit; if you want a familiar food or object, an emoji may be quicker. Keep each library separate while browsing, then combine the result only when it helps the message. For a large picture constructed from many lines, use text art instead of expecting a single emoji to provide the same layout. Check the final composition where you will actually publish it.

A few things you might wonder

What does the emoji picker copy?

It copies the complete Unicode sequence as text, including joined parts and modifiers present in that catalog entry. It does not copy a downloaded image or a platform-specific sticker.

Why do emoji look different on another phone?

The receiving device or app provides its own glyph artwork and sequence support. The same valid text can therefore have another design or appear as separate components on older software.

Can I change the skin tone of every emoji?

No. Variant controls are provided only where actual corresponding sequences exist in the catalog. Many emoji do not support skin-tone modifiers.
